No wrong questions

Questions people actually ask.

If yours isn't here, you can always just ask us, no pressure, no commitment.

Why are you adopting?
We have always pictured ourselves having a big family. After losing our daughter, Jovi, in 2021, we were hit with unexplained infertility. We tried IVF, but unfortunately, we haven't been successful in growing our family that way. We lost another baby in 2024, and we took our time to grieve and let Mookie recover from that experience.

Through all of this, we have continued to feel like God has been nudging us toward adoption. We don't know exactly what that journey will look like, but we hope it leads us to filling our rooms with children to love. We know adoption doesn't replace the children we've lost, but we also know we still have a lot of love and room in our family to give.
Are you looking for an open or closed adoption?
We don't have a preference. We're open to whatever type of relationship feels right and comfortable for everyone involved. Most importantly, we want our child to grow up knowing where they came from. We'll always speak about their birth family with kindness, love, and respect, and we want them to know how much they were loved from the very beginning. We'd love to build a relationship with the birth family that's healthy and meaningful for everyone.
Am I committing to anything by reaching out?
Not at all. Reaching out is just a hello. There's no obligation, no follow-up unless you ask for one, and no pressure of any kind. You're always in control of the next step, and whether there is one.
Are you open to multiples?
Absolutely! We'd be open to welcoming twins or triplets into our family.
Are you open to a bi-racial family?
Absolutely! We love traveling, learning about different cultures, and experiencing the world beyond our own. We would be excited to raise a child whose cultural or ethnic background is different from ours and would want to celebrate and embrace the parts of their identity and heritage that make them who they are.
Are you open to a baby with medical needs?
We're open to considering medical needs on a case-by-case basis. We know every situation is different, and we'd want to understand the specific circumstances, what care would be needed, and what we could realistically provide for that child.
What is your religious background?
We're active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Our faith is a big part of who we are.
Where do you live?
We live in a beautiful community tucked up close to the mountains in Northern Utah. There are so many families around us and tons to do, a community pool, a splash pad, four different parks, a trailhead, a reservoir, a skate park, and a pump track, all within ten minutes of us.
What does your extended family look like?
We both have extended families who are really involved in our lives. Matt's family lives close by, while Mookie's is a little farther away, her parents come to visit at least once a month, and she usually makes the trip to see them about once a quarter. Ollie is especially close with his cousins on Mookie's side, so we spend as much time with them as we can. Family is a really important part of our lives, and we love that our kids get to grow up surrounded by grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and lots of people who love them.
What would you tell them about me?
The truth: that you loved them enough to make the bravest, most thoughtful decision a person can make. Your child would always know your story is a part of theirs, told with respect and warmth.
